We currently have an opening for a regular part time Geriatric Specialist at the Maria Sardiñas Wellness Recovery Center.

The Maria Sardiñas Wellness and Recovery Center (MSWRC) is an Adult Outpatient Program located in the South Bay Region of San Diego. MSWRC provides initial psychosocial assessments, psychiatric and medication evaluations, ongoing medication support services, limited individual supportive counseling, group counseling, case management services, care coordination, information, referrals, and linkage, and crisis intervention.

MSWRC provides these services under contract with the County of San Diego Mental Health Services and the Health and Human Services Agency. MSWRC serves individuals 18 years of age and older with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.

The emphasis of our treatment is on the psycho-social rehabilitation of the individual. Respect for the client is a core value, and our staff work closely with all of our clients to develop individualized service plans that focus on their strengths, needs and abilities. We encourage our clients to take an active role in their recovery and our program uses these principles in all of its groups and activities. We work closely with our clients and frequently seek out their suggestions and comments to provide services that remain current with the ever changing needs of our community. We encourage the participation of family members in the recovery process. Our community holds a wealth of knowledge and experience, and including additional people in the support systems of our clients holds the benefits of improved health and stability.

The MSWRC Team is multi-disciplinary and consists of Marriage and Family Therapists, Social Workers, PSR Counselors, Psychiatrists, Nurses, and Master’s level Interns.
